Fresh out the lab
Originally named Bethany Osmond, Andrea is one of the first successful results of an ethically questionable, but groundbreaking neurological procedure conducted by group of neurosurgeons at Harvard Medical School which gave human body a second life, directly challenging the legal concept of death determined by complete cesassion of brain activity. With enough research and animal testing, the group sought to (illegally and out of sight of the public) begin human testing. Bethany's life "ended" when she was just 17 years old after suffering traumatic brain injury in a car crash, and was declared brain dead few days later. Taken over by Project Neuromancy, the reborn individual now named Andrea Callahan lives a new life with no knowledge, memories, or personality of her previous incarnation.

Description

Just an ordinary Canadian-American young adult girl... probably. In reality, this is a renewed brain-dead patient with a different mind and name; Andrea, or more specifically Neuromancy Subject No.4. Once she was declared ready for release from the neurolab and into the public, the usual patient overalls were ditched and new outfit was planned in advance. The childlike set consisting of a soft sweater, pleated fabric skirt, thigh high socks and boots was deliberately chosen to give off an impression of an innocent, childish girl to encourage social interaction from outsiders, and aid in neurological development of Andrea's artificial brain in what was once a body belonging to a late Bethany Osmond.
