Zayin Rokata is a special student at Hope's Peak High and the son of Deven Rokata. Usually, the characters would have personalities. But in Zayin's case, he doesn't posses the ability to express emotions nor feel expressions himself. He knows what love is and only feels that, but in the end, he's expressionless. Suffering from the experimental syndrome known as Expressionless Infancy Syndrome, Zayin has weak muscles that make him unable to move even a single muscle in his body including his own neck and head, and has the brain process of a newborn infant, only broken. Zayin is nonspeaking and only knowing one word: Mama, since she was the one who took care of him. He only calls out to his mother whenever he needs a diaper change or when he's hungry. His voice is also weak and shaky. Zayin would also suckle like that of an infant but not extending his neck because of severe weak muscles. When his mother died, he still called out for her but to no avail. But when he moved in with his father few years later, his needs are cared for by his family again. He was also given bells of different shapes and colors attached to the top of his wheelchair. He was even given an automatic wheelchair, so diaper changes from other people are no longer qualified. Zayin, after years of relying on his mother, slowly comes to a realization that his mother will no longer care for him nor give him the love she gave to him. So Zayin now learned a new word: Papa, since he knows who his father is. Zayin also begins to lose the ability to suckle now that he has a feeding tube that connects through his belly button.
