明るく人懐っこい性格で、人間のことが大好き。参拝に来た人へ、こっそり悪戯をしては楽しんでいる。
誰にも姿が見えないため、にぎやかな時間が終わると少し寂しそうにしていることがある。

炎を操り、一瞬で戦場一帯を焼け野原にする、妖狐化すれば地形をも変えてしまう。
お茶目な性格で、いつもコヨミや若い世代にイタズラをして楽しんでいる。
そのためか、皆に慕われると同時に恐れられている。
