Unfortunately for her, the secrets behind the device were hijacked and the original implement poisoned with a seemingly indecipherable code that was intended to do her in for its reclamation by an inside mole planted on behalf of a rival research team. However, the device saved her at the very last minute by envisioning the gibberish destination code as the Miami-Dade civil sector of planet Earth.

Emily in the full mask version of her scuba gear. Owing to the fact that she signed up for the career exploration program in the imperial guard's youth services with a focus on mecha piloting, she holds a special maturity exemption for both thermal bodywear and facial encapsulation in case a water evacuation would be necessary during the course of a cockpit ejection. As is common within her species, the same equipment configuration preferences from her civilian gear carry over to her duty provisions, including both her non-inflatable vest harness and the embedded tank valve sensor which transmits her remaining oxygen supply levels and navigational headings to an in-lens display.
