Kaede is an Edo-era kitsune shrine artist who once used foxfire to bring drawings and charms briefly to life. After being accidentally transported into the modern world, they become fascinated by the strange new “magic” humans have created through digital art, 3D modeling, and video games. Now Kaede moves between a traditional shrine form and a modern gamer form while learning how far creativity—and technology—can take them.
