Seeking a superhero identity to more comfortably use his powers openly, Neil would look into his Irish heritage. He'd find the name of a Celtic thunder god, Taranis, and was sold on that name.
And I guess not much to say here. As Taranis, Neil acts like a Superman figure. Stopping crime, save an animal, do both. Stop the occasional helicopter from falling, and jump people's cars.
Even save a plane from falling out of the sky.
Note: I'll admit that the cassock could use a revamp, haven't had time to do so.
