its link's dark doppleganger where link goes dark link occasionally follows shares all of links current strength, with his own powers to boot able to manipulate darkness itself to his whim to teleport from shadow to shadow or power himself up,
He cannot die as long as link lives so he comes to his counterpart's aid when in danger, he also is incapable of killing link, due to the magic that gave life to him.
