M is the boss of James Bond who gets so frustrated by the fact that the pistol that he gave Bond (being a Beretta), has caused Bond to suffer so many injuries whilst in the field of duty so therefore, he makes it clear to Bond that he must carry a different pistol to prevent such problems in the future. A Walther PPK.
He also suffers a lot of work pressure from the Prime Minister of the UK where he has to report to them on updates regarding intelligence and strategy.
