Ukiyo is literally "the floating world" - (meaning) living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life. Matsuri means festival. In Japan, the time when you will see a lot of kimonos around, it's the period of the Japanese festivals where a big part of the population dresses up traditionally to go eat, drink, dance, and watch fireworks with family and friends. Lovely!]
