Fumiya Tsuchiya was born in the Canadian city of Richmond, located in the greater Vancouver area of British Columbia, on June 12th in 1973, as a first generation Japanese-Canadian, and an only child of Hazuki and Minori Tsuchiya, who emigrated to Canada from Japan in 1968. In 1976, she became orphaned after both her parents were killed after being hit by a car driven by a drunk driver, while they were walking home one night. After the incident, she had spent 2 months at an orphanage before being adopted by Aiden and Megan Neylan, who brought her to their ocean view house in neighbouring White Rock, where she spent the rest of her childhood living there. In 1998, Fumiya went on a trip to Japan, and when she was in Kyoto, she met Naosuke Nakashima, marrying him the next year, in 1999. In 2002, they had their first child, a boy whom they named Toyozo, and then in 2006, they had a 2nd child, a girl whom they named Naomi. Fumiya is a kind, and welcoming person. She likes watching sports such as basketball and tennis in her free time.
