A reimagined version of my first vtuber design: ShinyGlider. She had no lore, and barely had a design to begin with, but we all have to start somewhere, right?

Happy April Fools!
So, if you look though the uploaded models on my page, you'll notice that the earliest models say “ShinyGlider 2.0” but there isn't actually a post for “ShinyGlider 1.0”. Why? Well, I started vtubing on November 13, 2020... when VRoid was still in beta... and I didn't know how the texture system worked... Needless to say the design wasn't much a “design” at all, I didn't make any sort of lore, or give myself a character name. The only original parts of the design were the hair, the glasses that I made using the hair tool, some very poor attempts at fixing the old beta skin and eye textures, then everything else was the basic beta textures that I simply recolored. At the end of the day, the character was just me but run through an anime filter, using a username that I made as a pun when got my first Pokemon game and needed a Pokemon account (ShinyGlider = Sugar Glider + Shiny Pokemon).
Anyway, that design acted as a placeholder as I learned the texture system in the background and made my isekai inspired 2.0 design. It might have been simple, the blend shapes might have been horribly broken, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right? For this reason, even though looking at the old design pains me to no end, when I was working on my big model showcase as an early send off to my current designs, I felt the need to reference ShinyGlider to some extent. Then I saw the MMD motion for Balloon's Nomad by Miu, and I knew what I had to do. You see my current lore is that I fell asleep and never woke up, becoming a Dream Eater. The motion starts with the character sleeping then getting up to preform the song, so I decided to have ShinyGlider be asleep and then the perspective would swap to Nyx going through different dreams showing off my different costumes. For this to work I needed ShinyGlider to actually match my current art style so, here we are, with a model update for a design I honestly thought had been dead and buried for literal years.
But only using her once for a grand total of about twenty seconds of a video seemed like a bit of a waste, so I also decided to be a little silly for April Fool's Day and stream as “ShinyGlider” one last time lol Which is why I didn't post this turnaround until now, on the off chance some of my watchers ignored the showcase video they could still be surprised during the stream~
