Paralyzed since birth, Kyla Larson is beset by a near-complete lack of body function with only her neck and head being spared from her debilitating condition. However, she is supported through advancements in bionic technology in ways that have permitted for her to serve as one of New York City's top police officers.

Kyla Larson in her police armor. The suit is structured to hold up to the rigors of both civil patrol and criminal pursuit and incorporates a thick breastplate with spine and shoulder guards for additional protection. The sealed construction allows for use in both extreme weather and aquatic environments, although it does ventilate her arms and legs for cooling purposes. Owing to the full-body construction and motorized stimulators which control her movement, she does not require a conventional uniform to signify her status as an officer (hence the fact that she wears her department identification patch on the front of her shoulder with her revolver strapped to her upper leg).
